A mushroom night light turned from walnut and beech rather than moulded in plastic, so the grain runs through the cap and no two caps are quite alike. That single material choice is what decides whether a lamp in this shape reads as a toy or as a piece of furniture.
The cap is the switch. One touch brings it on, and holding it moves the light through its dimming range, so the same lamp reads a book at full output and sits as a night light at the bottom of the scale. Warm white throughout, with no colour shift as it dims.
