The Vimini is woven by hand from bamboo and rattan into a wide, softly curved shade that narrows to a slim neck at the top and sweeps outward into an asymmetric brim. It is left in its natural undyed tone, so the colour is the material itself rather than a finish applied over it. The weave is open enough that light passes through the body of the shade as well as out of its mouth, which gives a room a warm glow rather than a single hard pool.
It measures 30cm across, which sits comfortably over a dining table or a kitchen island without crowding the space above it. The cord comes in two lengths, 80cm or 150cm, so the drop can be matched to a standard ceiling or a tall one, and the ceiling base is available in black, wood or white to suit what is already up there.
Bulbs are included, in warm white or cold white, so it arrives ready to fit rather than needing a separate trip for the right fitting. Natural fibre moves easily between a modern kitchen and an older dining room, and because the tone runs through the material it will not chip or wear back to a different colour underneath.
